On the afternoon of December 16, in New Delhi, the Secretary-General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Office of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong, and Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan witnessed the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between Tan Thanh Holdings and Sami-Sabinsa Group (India) on developing the medicinal herbs value chain in Vietnam.
Accordingly, Tan Thanh Holding will become a supplier of pharmaceutical materials for Sami - Sabinsa Group. In phase 1, it will cooperate to export 7 precious medicinal herbs from Vietnam with a contract value of at least 150 million USD. When the quantity is stable and the quality of medicinal herbs is ensured to meet international standards, the two sides will cooperate to build a factory to produce and extract finished products in Vietnam to complete the medicinal herbs value chain, on the basis of technology and international investment promotion.
With a land fund of more than 3 thousand hectares spread throughout the Central Highlands, Tan Thanh Holding is having a strong investment strategy in pharmaceuticals and other fields of green economy, sustainable development. This group has also proposed to invest in building the project "Medicinal herbs value chain associated with sustainable forest development in the Central Highlands - A model in Dak Lak" with a scale of more than 1,000 hectares. This will be the first closed pharmaceutical production chain in Vietnam that meets international quality and standards.
Sami-Sabinsa is a corporation specializing in the research and production of biological products and organic pharmaceuticals. Currently, this group has 8 production plants in the US and India.
Leaders of Sami-Sabinsa Group hope that the signing of a cooperation agreement with Tan Thanh Holdings will start a long-term and comprehensive cooperation with partners in Vietnam in developing the medicinal value chain. Vietnam and India are both countries with traditions and experiences related to the use of medicinal herbs, so the cooperation and exchange of experience, people, and technology will support the development of the herb’s value chain treatment in Vietnam.
